Short Bio Dr. Karmakar has received the B. Engg. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, in 2003 and the M. Engg. degree from the ECE department of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in 2006. From 2006 to 2007 he worked as a design engineer at the Beceem Communications (Broadcom), India. He has received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Colorado at Boulder in May, 2012. His research interests include multiuser wireless communication, information theory and code design for MIMO systems. Dr. Karmakar has joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering department of North Dakota State University as an assistant professor from August 2012. He has served as a reviewer to several IEEE Transactions and as reviewer and session chair to various IEEE conferences. His Google scholar profile can be found here .
