North Dakota State University researchers are included among the top two percent of most cited scientists in the world according to the Science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators. The annual list, made by Stanford University and Elsevier, was released on Sept. 16, 2024.
The list recognizes the most influential researchers across a broad range of scientific fields. The list pulls from citation metrics such as h-index, co-authorship and adjusted citation counts. The list is updated annually using single-year (2023 in this case) and career-long data for current relevance.
NDSU has 26 researchers on the single year list and 27 researchers on the career list.
“Being on the Top Scientist list is a confirmation of the level of expertise of our researchers at NDSU,” said NDSU Vice President of Research Colleen Fitzgerald. “Congratulations to everyone on both the career and single year lists on this wonderful accomplishment.”
Being included on the list has significant meaning for researchers as it signifies world-wide recognition for research excellence which further enhances a scientist’s reputation in academia and industry.
