Fall 2025 Scholarship Opportunities
The scholarship application for 2025 will open on Friday, November 1.
We are pleased to recognize transfer students who demonstrate high academic achievement at the collegiate level and are working towards their first bachelor’s degree.
Scholarship opportunities have varying deadlines and may also rely on FAFSA information for need-based awards. For maximum consideration, a transfer scholarship application must be submitted by stated deadlines you may receive an email if you are selected for a scholarship or if you need to provide additional information.

NDSU Tuition Award Program
For the 2025-26 academic year, eligible North Dakota and Minnesota students with a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 7000 or less and are Pell-eligible will have base tuition and student fees fully covered through the NDSU Tuition Award Program. Learn more by visiting www.ndsu.edu/tuition-award-program.
Guaranteed Scholarship Details
Deadline
Fall Semester – April 1
Spring Semester – January 1
To be eligible for guaranteed award, students must be pursuing their first bachelor's degree.
Students who transfer to NDSU after attending another college or university for one semester or less may be considered for First-Year Guaranteed Scholarships. Official final high school transcripts and test scores (if applicable) will be used to determine eligibility. All documents must be received on or before the deadline.
PTK (Phi Theta Kappa) Honor Society Scholarship

Fall Semester – April 1
Spring Semester – January 1
This $500 one time award is available to students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society at the time of scholarship awarding and have a cumulative college grade point average of 3.0 or above. Student must complete both the Transfer Student Scholarship Application and the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Application to be considered.
To be eligible for this award students must be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree.
Apply for additional Named Scholarships by April 1
Criteria: In addition to Guaranteed Scholarships, students may also apply for Named Scholarships which are awarded based on variable criteria such as academic merit or major.
Step 1: Claim your N.D. University System (NDUS) Account

Step 2: Apply for Additional NDSU Scholarships
After claiming your N.D. University System Account, use it to log into the NDSU Scholarship Portal. Then, complete the general scholarship application and click submit.
- Most of NDSU’s additional Named Scholarships are “Auto-Match.” This means you only need to submit the general scholarship application to be considered. No additional action is needed.
- A few of NDSU’s additional Named Scholarships are “Apply-To.” You may see these listed as “Recommended Opportunities” after you submit your general scholarship application. Review your recommended opportunities and apply.
- NDSU scholarships recipients will be notified after the April 1 scholarship deadline.
Land Grant Access Award
Overview

Eligibility
For consideration, the following eligibility criteria must be met:
- Be admitted to NDSU for the fall semester by March 15 and meet one of the following:
- New undergraduate first-year student with a 2.75 or higher cumulative high school GPA
- New undergraduate transfer student with a 2.0 or higher cumulative college GPA
- Be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident
- Demonstrate financial need through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Funding
- Undergraduate students may be eligible for up to $4,000 per semester, or $8,000 per academic year (fall and spring semesters).
- The waiver covers a portion of tuition and does not cover transportation, fees, books, room, board or other costs of attendance. Students may use other forms of financial aid to cover these costs.
- Due to the limited number of awards available, not all applicants are guaranteed the Land Grant Access Award.
How to Apply
To be considered for the Land Grant Access Award, you must:
- Submit the Land Grant Access Award application with required documentation in the Scholarship Portal by March 15. No late applications will be accepted.
- Submit the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), indicating NDSU's school code of 002997. To be considered, you must submit your FAFSA free of errors by March 15.
