Learn about a variety of topics related to the production, management and marketing of cattle, sheep, goats and swine. Hands-on activities include hay judging, wool judging, meat science and carcass evaluation, artificial insemination, anatomy and quality assurance exercises. Develop and test your overall knowledge of animal sciences, problem-solving and communication. We will form teams of four, so grab three friends to join you at this exciting Skillathon experience.  Camp DatesJune 8 - June 12, 2025Camps begin with check-in at 4 p.m. Central time and end at 11 a.m. Central time.June 9: Livestock, Equipment and Feed IdentificationDo you know the difference between a Suffolk and Hampshire sheep? Do you know what cattle breed is golden-red and heavily muscled? You’ll also learn some of the most common pieces of equipment we use to raise livestock and the anatomy of different livestock species. Come ready to test your knowledge!  June 10: Judging and Industry QuizBring your “A” game on Tuesday to test your competitive edge in wool, hay, and meat judging activities. We will work to boost your confidence in learning how to identify differences in feed/hay samples, evaluate meat and wool quality, and expand your understanding of the livestock industry as a whole.June 11: Team Skills and Quality AssuranceOn Wednesday, learn how to develop your skills in quality assurance and team skill exercises such as: how to identify sick animals, choose the correct medicine, calculate withdrawal times, dosage, route of administration, and develop treatment protocols. Also learn best management practices for breeding, reproduction, and nutrition for different production systems. Want to know the best time to market your animal? We will go over just how to do that based on management, performance, and the predicted quality of the carcass of that animal!  Cost$375A deposit of $50 is required at online registration. Deposits are nonrefundable.A confirmation will be sent via email upon receipt of your registration. All correspondence will be through the email address you provide to UltraCamp when you set up your profile online.4-H membership is NOT required for participation. Scholarships are available for income eligible families. Skillathon Camp 2025

Camp Dates

June 8 - June 12, 2025

Camps begin with check-in at 4 p.m. Central time and end at 11 a.m. Central time.

June 9: Livestock, Equipment and Feed Identification
