From Cloverbuds to older teens, discover treasures that will add zest to any club meeting and appeal to youth of all ages. Come ready to add to your treasure chest, making your 4-H club meeting one youth choose to attend.X Marks the Spot for 4-H Livestock Camps and ClinicsAre your 4-H’ers overboard with excitement about having a livestock clinic/camp, but you feel lost at sea? Let’s weigh anchor and hoist the sails! Together we will navigate the choppy waters of wants, needs and crazy ideas to help chart a map pointed directly at treasure. This will be a working session where you will leave with a plan that’s all shipshape.Heave Ho! Fun Problem-Solving Activities for Your ClubAre you looking for short science or engineering activities to kick start your club meetings? We will walk through a few activities in a problem-solving activity guide to expand your box of treasures and engage your buccaneering club members.Session 2: (Participants will choose one workshop for each session)I’m Marooned on a Deserted Island with No Vittles to Speak of. If Only I had a Solar Pizza OvenThe sun was important to pirates, as it was the source of light and heat. Participants will learn about the power of the sun and make their own solar pizza box oven. As a group, we will discuss other items you can make with your 4-H members.Yo Ho Ho! It’s a FairEntry Life for Me! Batten down the hatches. It will be fair season before you know it. Get your booty on over to this session so you can avoid blowing this cannon out of proportion. We will make learning and understanding FairEntry as easy as swabbing the deck with two good hands. Get ready to plunder through and come out a master on the high seas.Plant Ahoy! Introducing Your Club to the Wondrous World of PlantsPlants touch so many aspects of our daily lives -- from agriculture to gardening to landscaping to unknown future uses. Participants will engage in an activity they can take back to their clubs to spark an interest in plant science that can lead to additional opportunities in 4-H and beyond.General Session: 4-H Exploration Table Topics:Ahoy, Maties!
