Description

Native to Europe, northern Africa to Asia, where it has been used widely in the landscape. Several cultivars are available in different forms and sizes. An adaptable and aesthetically valuable shrub. However, the snowball aphid usually mars the quality, particularly of the species and cultivar 'Roseum.' Fall color ranges from red to pink to purple-red.

Preferences

Light: Full sun to partial shade.
Water: Prefers moist, well drained soils.
Soil: Adaptable to many soil types.

Comments

European cranberrybush viburnum makes a wonderful shrub border along yard edges as a screen for road traffic or neighbors.

The showy flowers and fruit display of this plant make it excellent in the landscape.
