Comments

The fruit of Nanking cherry is relished by many songbirds and it also provides nesting cover for a few species of songbirds. This shrub is browsed by rabbits, mice, and deer, which can cause serious injury if control measures are not taken. Established plants have good drought tolerance. Nanking cherry is prone to branch cankers. A white Nanking cherry variety, ‘Leucocarpa’, is also available on the market.
