Description

A large, native tree-like shrub, found in North Dakota’s native forests. Attractive for its shiny foliage, red fall color and fruit display. White to cream flowers in large, flat groups appear in spring.

Preferences

Light: Full sun to partial shade.
Water: Limited drought tolerance.
Soil: Adaptable to a variety of soils.

Comments

Fruits are edible and may be eaten off the plant or used in jams and jellies.

Makes an excellent hedge and background to naturalized plantings.

Nannyberry viburnum does sucker and must be controlled unless naturalizing is desired.
