Description

Native to China, Korea and Japan, these hardy medium-sized shrubs need minimal care. Mound-like growth enhances its competitiveness; produces abundance of flowers.

Preferences

Light: Full sun.
Water: Medium water needs.
Soil: Adapted to a wide variety of soils. Tolerates salt and is pH adaptable.

Comments

A valuable plant for difficult sites including saline environments. Very beautiful in foliage, flower and fruit. Has escaped in the northeastern United States and grows along the sandy shores of the ocean. It is also called the “saltspray rose” because of its salt tolerance.

Withstands pruning and can be turned into a hedge if desired.
