Preferences

Light: Full sun to partial shade.
Water: Prefers moist, well drained soils, but moderately drought tolerant.
Soil: Adaptable to many soil types. Does not tolerate alkaline or poorly drained soils. Prefers pH of 4.5-7.5.

Comments

Pine Wilt Nematode is a major issue of Scotch pines from central South Dakota and south and east throughout the rest of the United States. This pest currently doesn't appear to be viable in North Dakota.
