Welcome to the NDSU Action and Cognition Lab.
Research in the Action and Cognition Lab investigates the ways in which actions influence perception and cognition. We incorporate approaches from both vision science and grounded cognition to study the ways in which physical actions—and our potential to interact with the environment—affect perception and key components of cognition such as problem solving, memory, and attention. By examining when and why actions influence processing, our goal is to enhance our understanding of the mechanisms and representations that tie perception, cognition, and action together.
