About the Lab

The Social Psychology and Affective Neuroscience in Health (SPANH) Lab uses techniques from social psychology and affective neuroscience to understand health and well-being across the lifespan in diverse populations. We are particularly interested in questions related to loneliness, social connection, and emotions. Research in our lab uses multiple psychophysiological and neuroscientific methods, including facial electromyography (fEMG), electrocardiography (ECG), and electroencepholography (EEG), as well as self-report and behavioral tasks.
