Mark Strand, NDSU professor in the Department of Public Health and the School of Pharmacy, was recently named to the Multi-Partner Health Collaborative steering committee.

The MPHC was launched earlier this summer by the Foundation for a Healthy North Dakota, American Heart Association and North Dakota Health and Human Services. The group’s goal is to make North Dakota the healthiest state in the nation. Members of the MPHC steering committee will play a vital role in guiding and supporting the collaborative by ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with its mission, vision, purpose and values.

Strand joins 31 other members from a wide array of professional backgrounds and fields, including the health care industry, education sector, financial industry and nonprofit and foundation field.

“Members’ expertise and dedication to promoting public health and addressing health disparities make them an invaluable addition to the team,” said Pam Gulleson, former vice president of public affairs for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota and current coordinator of the MPHC. “We are confident their contributions will greatly enhance efforts to improve the health and well-being of all North Dakotans.”
