Vern Dosch, president and chief executive officer of National Information Solutions Cooperative Inc., will be the featured speaker at the 25th annual Aldrich C. Bloomquist Lectureship, scheduled for Thursday, April 20, at 7 a.m. at the Embassy Hall of the Holiday Inn in Fargo.

The lectureship is sponsored by the NDSU Quentin N. Burdick Center for Cooperatives and Aldrich C. Bloomquist Endowment, which was established by American Crystal Sugar Co.

The theme of Dosch's speech is "Relevance of the Cooperative Business Model in a Millennial World," according to Frayne Olson, director of the Quentin N. Burdick Center for Cooperatives and host of the event.

Dosch earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Mary, Bismarck, North Dakota. He began his career in the utility business in 1975 at Capital Electric Cooperative. Positions at Basin Electric Power Cooperative and North Central Data Cooperative followed. In 2000, he joined National Information Solutions Cooperative Inc. as the chief operating officer, and was named president and chief executive officer of the cooperative in 2002.

The lectureship is free of charge and breakfast will be provided. For more information or to register for the event, email Olson at frayne.olson@ndsu.edu no later than April 13.

The lectureship is named in honor of Aldrich C. Bloomquist, who served at American Crystal Sugar Co. as president and longtime executive. The lecture series was established by American Crystal Sugar Co. in recognition of his contributions to the company and the sugar industry through the Quentin N. Burdick Center for Cooperatives.

The mission of the center is to conduct, promote and coordinate university education and research on cooperatives to strengthen operations and work toward expanding employment and economic opportunities through cooperatives.
