Four NDSU communications professionals were honored for their work in the 2018 National Federation of Press Women communications contest during the federation’s annual conference in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
NDSU communicators receiving awards were:
Becky Koch, director of Agriculture Communication
· Second in magapapers/tabloids for the Horticulture and Forestry Ag Mag
· Honorable mention in catalogs, manuals and handbooks for Family Preparedness Program
Carol Renner, marketing/communications coordinator in the College of Health Professions
· First in social media campaign for Giving Day in the College of Health Professions
· Second in writing for the web for Sudro Hall Building Addition
Kelli Anderson, Agriculture Communication information specialist
· Second place in podcast the Sound Ag Advice
· Honorable mention in community, institutional or internal relations campaign for efforts to encourage staff to use the new NDSU Extension branded materials and templates
Ellen Crawford, Agriculture Communication information specialist,
· Second in single news or feature release for an article on NDSU scientists studying distillers grains as fertilizer
· Third in book edited by entrant for “The Windbreak Cookbook”
· Honorable mention in news story in the magazine, newsletter or other non-newspaper print publication category for an article on 4-H leadership opportunities teaching lifelong skills
