The Society of Women Engineers at NDSU is set to host the annual “Mommy, Me, & SWE” event, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon in the E. Glenn Hill Building. The event is offered for girls in grades K-2 as well as their mothers.
“Throughout the morning, moms will work with their daughters doing hands-on projects introducing them to the different types of engineering,” said Danielle Filipi, a senior majoring in industrial engineering and management from East Grand Forks, Minnesota, who is the chapter’s vice president of outreach. “This year’s activities include Wigglebot, Build a Flashlight, Bouncy Bubble and Slime.”
Cost is $10 per person.
The NDSU chapter of the Society of Women Engineers strives to encourage women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession and demonstrate the value of diversity.
