The NDSU men’s and women’s cross country teams earned the All-Academic Team Award from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, announced Jan. 30.
The women’s team posted a cumulative grade point average of 3.516 for the 2019 season. In addition, NDSU junior Kelby Anderson was recognized individually as an All-Academic performer for the second year in a row. Anderson owns a 3.83 cumulative GPA as a nursing major.
This is the eighth consecutive year that NDSU has earned the team academic award. The Bison women have had 17 consecutive semesters with a team GPA of at least 3.30.
The men’s team posted a 3.46 cumulative grade point average for the 2019 season, also earning the award for the eighth straight year. The Bison men have had 23 straight semesters with a team GPA above 3.0. Fourteen of the 16 team members own cumulative GPAs of 3.20 or better.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
