Somnath Banerjee, assistant professor of marketing, is featured in a recent WalletHub.com story.
He was one of 19 experts from around the country who were interviewed for “2021 Travelers Auto Insurance Review,” by car insurance writer Melissa Sherrard. The article was published Jan. 14.
Banerjee answered these questions:
• How important should Travelers Insurance reviews be to potential customers?
• Why do insurance companies like Travelers spend so much money on commercials?
• Do national companies like Travelers tend to be a better deal for consumers versus a local insurance company?
According to Banerjee, research suggests customers rely on reviews to evaluate services and products. “This is particularly so for services like insurance that are intangible and difficult to evaluate,” he said in the article. “Reviews tend to be a more credible source of information as compared to information directly from the company which may be more promotional, and for intangible and experience-based products like insurance services.”
Banerjee joined the NDSU faculty in 2015. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Patna University, India; Master of Business Administration from the International Management Institute in India; and doctorate in business administration from the University of Central Florida.
