Kristina Astrup, associate director of employee development, has been named Human Resources interim director at NDSU. She succeeds John Woolsey, who recently was selected as vice chancellor of human resources for Keiser University, Tallahassee, Florida.
“Please join us in thanking John Woolsey for his leadership and service. He was instrumental in helping lead the university through the pandemic. He assisted employees with such items as federal COVID guidelines and provided solid leadership during unprecedented times,” said Bruce Bollinger, vice president for finance and administration, noting the department is in the process of opening the position and conducting a national search.
Astrup begins her new duties March 15.
“I am excited to learn more about the university, and to have the opportunity to continue to strengthen the relationship Human Resources has with our employees,” Astrup said.
Astrup joined NDSU in 2019 as associate director of organizational development. Prior to coming to NDSU, she was the human resources manager at Hospice of the Red River Valley. Astrup previously held positions in human resource management and training and organizational development at CoreLink Administrative Solutions and Discovery Benefits Inc.
Astrup earned her bachelor’s degree in communications and art from Concordia College, Moorhead, and master’s degree in business administration from the University of Mary. She is a SHRM Certified Professional in Human Resources.
