NDSU senior baseball players Tucker Rohde and Jake Malec were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic-All-District baseball team for Division I, the organization announced July 1.
Rohde, from Scottsdale, Arizona, and Malec, from Proctor, Minnesota, will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors later this summer.
Rohde, a finance major with a 3.73 grade point average, was selected to the All-Summit League second team this season at third base.
Malec, an exercise science major with a 3.68 GPA, was an All-Summit League first team selection in the outfield this season.
District 6 is comprised of student-athletes from Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his current institution, and be nominated by his sports information director.
