Kelsch will provide leadership, direction and administrative oversight for academic affairs, accreditation and assessment for the Doctor of Pharmacy degree program. His appointment became effective in January.

After completing a residency at the University of Wisconsin, he returned to NDSU as assistant professor of practice, focusing primarily on pharmacotherapy of infectious diseases.

Since April 2000, Kelsch served as the interim associate dean. He previously was vice chair in the Department of Pharmacy Practice from 2016 to 2020 and the School of Pharmacy Curriculum Committee chair from 2013 to 2018.

Kelsch also served on the NDSU Athletic Academic Advisory Committee from 2005 to 2017, including a term as vice chair.
