Alan Kallmeyer, professor and chair of mechanical engineering, has been named interim dean of the College of Business, effective July 25. Provost Margaret Fitzgerald made the announcement July 15.
Kallmeyer has served as chair in the NDSU Department of Mechanical Engineering since 2005.
“Dr. Kallmeyer brings a commitment to student success and shared governance and extensive experience in managing budgets, operations and personnel; growing enrollment for both undergraduate and graduate programs; developing relationships with alumni and the business community; and securing donations for scholarships and equipment,” Fitzgerald said. “Please welcome Dr. Kallmeyer in his new role in our NDSU community.”
Fitzgerald recognized outgoing dean Scott Beaulier for his leadership in guiding the college since 2016. “Dean Beaulier worked relentlessly to grow enrollment, enhance student success, launch online degrees, develop partnerships with the business community and raise private funds to support academic excellence,” she said. “His continuous support, guidance and leadership has been greatly appreciated by his colleagues.”
Fitzgerald also thanked the work of the search committee, led by Canan Bilen-Green, vice provost for faculty affairs and equity.
