Pursue your passion for making a difference in community health with NDSU’s minor in public health. Designed for students with a strong interest in promoting health and preventing disease, this minor provides a dynamic foundation in the history, philosophy and global functions of public health. You’ll gain a deep understanding of the socioeconomic, behavioral and biological factors that shape human health and contribute to disparities, while honing vital communication skills through writing, critical thinking and multimedia methods. Perfectly complementing majors like health services, emergency management, sociology, microbiology, exercise science, nutrition, psychology and pre-health tracks, this minor is also an excellent stepping stone toward a Master of Public Health or advanced degrees.
