Introduction

Using live aquatic plants in your aquarium is both beautiful and functional. Live plants, as apposed to their plastic counterparts, have substantial benefits to the health of your aquarium. For instance:

- Live plants absorb CO2 and release oxygen
Do you know that fresh air feeling you get when you're in a park or other green area? Its the same for your aquarium fish. It aids in respiration and overall health.

- Live plants remove toxins from the water
Problems arise with high levels of nitrates in an aquarium. Live plants absorb nitrates to grow.

- Live plants harbor benefical bacterial to prevent disease

- Live plants prevent algae growth

- Live plants are a natural food source for your fish
