Here we have a huge end moraine, quite a large hill for North Dakota.
 

These photos are directed towards what is referred to as outwash plain. The formation of this area would have been a pretty wild thing to see. With the glacier pushing into the ground, the build up of very high water pressure from trapped meltwater would develop. The water certainly must have been shooting out of the ground at certain points. And you thought North Dakota was boring.
