How to use Publications Services
Things to know
Who
Who you're trying to reach — prospective students, potential donors, campus and community, etc.
What
What you want them to know or do as a result — choose to attend NDSU, support their NDSU experience, attend an event, etc.
When
When the communication is needed
How many
How many you need, if printing
Budget
There are no fees for our services, but campus clients are responsible for their own printing costs.
Provide written copy if available. The information should already be proofread by you and approved by any others necessary, to help avoid multiple rounds of copy editing after the design has been established. Content provided to our office will be edited per Associated Press (AP) style. If you would like assistance with writing, please let us know.
Time frame for project requests is four to six weeks for writing, design, production and printing. Bigger projects take longer, and advance notice is important to balance requests across campus and departmental workflows. Requests that do not follow the suggested time frame may be unable to be accommodated.
You will be asked to give Publications Services creative independence with design, per NDSU branding standards, as we accommodate your request. You will be asked to sign off on the design before it goes to the printer.
For projects costing more than $10,000, a purchase requisition must be submitted to Purchasing.
Faculty and staff photos

These photos are meant to be used for university purposes (i.e. you need a photo for your department website; or if you need a photo for a speaking engagement or you are being published). They are not intended to be used as passport photos or applying to external job opportunities.
