Fernandez Receives MaGNET Award
Congratulations to Edward Cedrick Fernandez, Ph.D. student in the interdisciplinary Genomics, Phenomics, and Bioinformatics Program at NDSU, on receiving the MaGNET Award (Maize Genetics Network Enhancement via Travel) to attend the 57th Maize Genetics Conference in St. Louis, MO held March 6-9, 2025.
Ced presented his research, Within-leaf spatial responses to heat stress reveal varied genetic mechanisms in Hordeum vulgare which focuses on integrating phenotypic and genetic approaches to understand heat tolerance in barley. Ced is advised by Dr. Zhikai Liang, Assistant Professor, Omics & Predictive Modeling Appl Plant Breeding, Department of Plant Sciences.
The award is sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
