Services

The Center for Writers supports writers across campus by offering a full range of services for individuals and groups at any stage of the writing process. Whether you're developing an idea, drafting, revising, or polishing your work, we provide individualized feedback through one-on-one consultations with highly trained graduate and undergraduate peer consultants. Our consultants are prepared to work with all types of writing, from class assignments, dissertations, and theses to journal articles, grant proposals, and creative or professional work. We welcome writers from every discipline and every level of experience. These services are free to students, faculty, and staff at NDSU.

In addition to individual consultations, the Center for Writers offers a variety of writing-focused events and resources throughout the year. These include workshops on academic and scientific genres, formatting support for disquisitions, writing retreats/bootcamps, guided project planning, and weekly writing groups designed to build writing momentum and accountability in a supportive community. For faculty, we are happy to visit your classes to introduce our services, can provide in-class instruction tailored to writing projects, and can coordinate expectations for students who will be working with our consultants.
