Financial Support
Accepted graduate students working as teaching assistants (TAs) during the first year of school are offered a salary of $24,000. TA positions provide our students an advanced experience with teaching undergraduate courses (typically general and/or organic chemistry labs).
Starting the first summer and following years, graduate students typically work as graduate research assistants (GRAs) supported by grants of their supervisors.
Note that both TAs and GRAs include a full waiver of tuition, provided a student remain in good academic standing. The combined value of a full assistantship and tuition waiver totals $36,000 annually.
Continuation of your assistantship beyond the first semester is contingent upon you making satisfactory progress towards the Ph.D. degree.
