Welcome to the NDSU College of Engineering

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the College of Engineering at North Dakota State University. As dean, I’m proud to lead a college with a strong tradition of excellence in education, research, and industry engagement.

Since joining NDSU in 1995, I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible students, faculty, and partners who are passionate about solving real-world challenges. Our college is home to nationally accredited programs, innovative research, and collaborative learning experiences that prepare students for rewarding careers in engineering and computer science. We are also deeply committed to expanding opportunities for future generations through K-12 STEM outreach and mentoring.

This is a transformative time for the College of Engineering. We’re actively shaping the future of engineering education through the $100 million Richard Offerdahl ’65 Engineering Complex—an exciting construction and renovation project that will open in 2026 and enhance every aspect of the student experience. We’re also proud to be leading regional innovation through initiatives like the NSF I-Corps Great Plains Hub, which is helping researchers and entrepreneurs bring cutting-edge ideas to the marketplace.

Whether you are a prospective student, a current member of our community, or one of our valued alumni or industry partners, I invite you to explore all that we have to offer. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected future—right here at NDSU.

Sincerely,
Alan Kallmeyer, Ph.D.
