K.N. Rao Competition
The Competition
Each year the NDSU Department of Mathematics sponsors a Mathematics competition in honor of our colleague, K. N. Rao. The competition is a contest of individual mathematical knowledge and expertise as measured by performance on a series of written problems. The expectation of preparation for this contest is calculus and an introductory course in linear algebra.
Prizes
Top competitors are awarded prizes. Competitors will be considered for scholarships that can be utilized at NDSU. The top five competitors are awarded gift certificates to the NDSU Bookstore.
Eligible Competitors
The contest is open to undergraduate students registered at any of the Tri-College institutions (Concordia, MSUM, and NDSU).
