Bohdan Domnich, an NDSU graduate student in the Coatings and Polymeric Materials department, has been awarded the 2025 Spring POLY Graduate Student Travel Award by the American Chemical Society’s Division of Polymer Chemistry.
Domnich is one of just 37 graduate students selected nationwide to present at the prestigious, invitation-only Excellence in Graduate Polymer Research Symposium during the 2025 Spring ACS Meeting.
His presentation, titled “Tough Biobased Thermosets with Dual Curing Capability via Epoxy and Acrylic Functionality,” highlights his research on the development of a high-performance, sustainable thermosetting material. The material is designed to undergo two different curing processes, epoxy and acrylic, making it stronger and more durable.
Domnich conducts research under the mentorship of Andriy Voronov, NDSU professor of coatings and polymeric materials. His work could have broad applications in industries such as coatings, adhesives and composite materials.
The ACS Spring Meeting will bring together leading researchers, industry experts and students from around the world to share advances in chemistry and materials science.
