An informative panel discussion, titled “Chit-chat with Aliens: A Casual Conversation on Cultural Diversity” is scheduled at NDSU on Thursday, April 11, at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Union’s Great room.
The student-led event is sponsored by NDSU International Student and Study Abroad Services and Global Shapers Community FARGO.
Mohsen Tahmasebi Nasab, a civil engineering doctoral student from Iran, is organizing the event.“The primary objective of this event is to foster dialogue among students, faculty, staff and community members from different backgrounds and cultures,” Nasab said. “We want to create a friendly atmosphere where everyone feels welcome to ask questions and share their experiences.”
Nasab came to North Dakota four years ago. “My passion is to learn about other cultures. I believe being open to the diversity of thought has significantly helped me in my personal and professional career,” he said. “Learning from other cultures introduces me to new ideas, new people and new paths that I cherish every day of my life.”
