Fargo-Moorhead area elementary school students can enjoy a fun night of games and learning during the annual Math Night, presented by the NDSU Department of Mathematics.
This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, from 5:30 pm. to 8 p.m. in Minard Hall, room 112.
"Many mathematical concepts can be introduced in a fun, engaging way by means of games,” said Maria Alfonseca-Cubero, associate professor of mathematics. “In this way, we hope to instill in young children an enthusiasm for mathematics. The children are usually fascinated by the math facts we show in our math events and area classroom visits."
Some of the interactive games include math fishing bingo, candy permutations, coloring a fractal snowflake, number magic tricks and logic puzzles.
Children should be accompanied by an adult.
