The NDSU Department of Biological Sciences is set to host a seminar by Devan Allen McGranahan, assistant professor of range science in the NDSU School of Natural Resource Sciences.
McGranahan is scheduled to present “Leaves and Landscapes: Tales of Grassland Fire Ecology” on Friday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. in Van Es 101.

McGranahan earned his bachelor’s degree at Grinnell College, Iowa; and his master’s degree and doctorate in ecology and evolutionary biology from Iowa State University, Ames. He was a Mellon Environmental Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, and a Fulbright Scholar at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. His research focuses on fire and grazing ecology in grasslands.
