NDSU junior civil engineering major Tiffany Meeks has been awarded a Deep Foundations Institute At-Large Scholarship from the Charles J. Berkel Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The merit-based scholarship is presented to undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate promising future careers in the fields of geotechnical and foundation engineering. Meeks is one of five students from around the country to receive an award in 2020.
“I was very excited to find out I have the great honor of being one of the few to win this scholarship from around the country,” Meeks said. “As a result of the support offered by this scholarship, I am partially relieved of the financial strain and will be able to continue in this exciting path of research and focus on my educational journey.”
Meeks works on the research team of Beena Ajmera, associate professor of civil engineering.
