Many NDSU students experience personal growth and meaningful classroom or hands-on education by studying abroad.
Study Abroad Services helps students make informed decisions about which experience is right for their needs. NDSU study abroad promotes and facilitates student mobility and internationalization strategies to create practical, effective engagement between the local community and the world.
“Studying abroad was an experience I wanted to have before graduating college because I wanted to see the world,” said Yasser Ayeva, an electrical engineering student who studied at Université Savoie Mont Blanc in France. “My experience was unique and challenging because of the global pandemic, but it did not stop me from meeting and working with new people from different cultures, trying new food, getting out of my comfort zone and, most importantly, expanding my network for future job opportunities.”

Peer mentors are available to help students plan and navigate through the process. Mentors all recently studied abroad and know firsthand the best ways to get the most from the experience. Students can talk with a peer mentor during a drop-in appointment at Study Abroad Services in Memorial Union or via email at ndsu.studyabroad@ndsu.edu.
Students also can learn more about study abroad experiences through 50-mintue, online “Get Started” sessions every Monday through Thursday. The sessions review the types of available experiences and answer questions about how to navigate the study abroad process.
Study abroad experiences are available for any major and for a variety of lengths of time, including spring break and a full academic year. More detailed study abroad information can be found online.
