NDSU Dining has received a prestigious dining award from the National Association of College and University Food Services.

The organization awarded NDSU a silver in the category of Residential Dining Facility for large institutions in the NACUFS 2020 Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards. The dining awards celebrate exemplary menus, presentations, special event planning and new dining concepts, while providing an avenue to share ideas and creative presentations in campus dining services.

“We are thrilled and honored to receive this recognition,” said Katie Tarter, director of NDSU Dining. “Our team works so hard to ensure West Dining Center provides exemplary meals and service to our students, faculty, staff and guests.”

West Dining Center was renovated and re-opened in fall 2019. It is the largest dining center on campus, featuring nine unique food stations with different menus. WDC also is the allergy-friendly dining center on campus, meaning it is peanut and tree-nut free; it also houses the Clean Eats station which serves a menu free from the top eight allergens, plus gluten.

A total of 58 member institutions across North America submitted entries in six categories. A team of six judges and a committee chair safely gathered in East Lansing, Michigan, to examine each entry and selected top candidates in each category.
