Winter is slowly exiting, making way for green grass and sunny days. The Fargo-Moorhead area has many activities to take advantage of during the spring season.

Canoe, kayak and camp
Outdoor recreation equipment is available for rent at NDSU’s Wallman Wellness Center. Canoes, kayaks, tents, sleeping supplies, backpacks and cooking supplies are available to get your spring adventure started.
Hiking trails throughout Fargo-Moorhead are a great way to get outside and enjoy nature.
Hiking, walking and running
Walk or run along the many recreational trails throughout Fargo-Moorhead. Enjoy a great view of the Red River, explore local neighborhoods and stroll along various nature paths. There also are many indoor walking paths available.
The Fargo-Moorhead area has tons of bike trails to keep you active.
Biking
Break out your bike and tackle a difficult trail ride or a leisurely roll around town on the many bike trail options. MB Johnson Park in Moorhead has a four-mile, intermediate mountain bike trail, Gooseberry Mound Park has a 3-mile intermediate trail and Iwen Park recently added a 2-mile course next to the Red River. Leisurely or competitive riders in the city can get a comprehensive list of bike trails from Bike FM.
There are several fun markets in Fargo for art, furniture, food and more.
Markets
Shake off the winter blues with a little retail therapy at one of the many upcoming spring markets:
On Saturday, May 6, shop local artists and makers at the Spring Artisan Market. This free event will feature over 20 vendors at Cellar 624’s historic location.
Find retro and vintage clothing, décor, vinyl, furniture and more at the Spring Vintage Market at Wild Terra Cider on Saturday, May 21. The event features over 30 vendors, live music and popular food trucks.
Support local artists and businesses while enjoying delicious food at the second annual Asian Night Market on May 26 at the Plains Art Museum.
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks open the season May 15 at Newman Outdoor Field on the NDSU campus.
Baseball
Fargo-Moorhead’s minor league baseball team, the RedHawks, open their season on Monday, May 15, against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Newman Outdoor Field. The NDSU baseball team also has regular season games through May 26.
Golf
Fargo and Moorhead combine for eight public golf courses. Competitive golfers and beginners can find a fun course. Indoor golf is also available at Suite Shots in Fargo.
Thunder Road
Thunder Road Family Fun Park has mini golf, go-karts, bumper cars, batting cages and indoor laser tag.
The Fargo Marathon is scheduled from May 15 through 20.
Fargo Marathon
The Essentia Health Fargo Marathon has week-long events from May 15 through 20 whether you bike, run or want to cheer on those participating. The week includes Monday’s Cyclothon, Tuesday’s FurGo Dog Run, Thursday’s Children’s Youth Run, Friday Night 5K and Saturday’s half and full marathons.
