Professional Program
For current NDSU students or students interested in transferring to NDSU that are interested in submitting an application.
The NDSU Veterinary Technology Program is a limited enrollment program and students must apply for one of up to 30 seats accepted annually. A student must complete one or more semesters of study at NDSU as a Pre-Veterinary Technology Major prior to application. Any student can attend the pre-professional Veterinary Technology Program courses, but in order to continue on the path toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Technology, a student must be selected as a viable candidate as one of the up to 30 students selected. Applicants are selected in June of each calendar year to begin as Professional Veterinary Technology Program students the following fall semester.

What is the application deadline?
All materials must be submitted by 5 PM Central the third Friday of May.
How many students will be admitted into the Veterinary Technology Professional Program each year?
Up to 30 qualified students. Students apply by the first Friday in May each year and are evaluated/ranked. Selected students begin the Professional Program the following Fall semester.
Do I need to be vaccinated with RABIES to apply?
Once admitted to the program, you are required to be vaccinated against RABIES in accordance with our program Rabies Prevention/Protection documentation. Proof of vaccination series completion must be submitted to the Program Co-Directors on or before the first day of classes for the Fall semester in which the students begin working with live animal educators.
