Choose Your Week and Session

Herd U classes are offered in morning and afternoon sessions during three weeks in June. Families may register learners for one class, multiple classes, or a full-day schedule by selecting both a morning and afternoon class in the same week.

Learners registered for both morning and afternoon sessions in the same week receive free lunch supervision and built-in movement time. Learners must bring their own lunch.

Come along for a week of science fun, where you’ll get to explore the magic of hands-on experiments! From making vinegar-and-baking-soda volcanoes to growing your own crystals and even creating edible gummy worms, there’s no shortage of exciting activities. Dive into the world of science, unleash your curiosity, and watch amazing things happen right before your eyes.

Get ready to dig in and grow some plants! Plant your very own pea or bean and watch it grow right before your eyes. Watch it sprout, change, and thrive as you document every step in our sketchbooks! Along the way, you’ll also get creative by drawing, painting, and sculpting plants, trees, and flowers. You’ll even learn the science of mixing watercolor paints to create your own colorful masterpieces! Learners will take home their plants at the end of the week.

Unleash your inner artist in this vibrant, mixed-media playground! If you love to build, paint, and create, this is the camp for you. We are raiding the art cabinets to find the coolest supplies—from squishy clay and bright paints to fun textiles and hidden treasures. Using a mix of classic art tools and tactile found objects, we will create rich, layered 2D and 3D artworks. We will focus on the joy of the artistic process—cutting, gluing, stacking, and splashing color—letting our imaginations lead the way. It is the perfect studio for young creators who love to explore materials and get a little messy!

Join us for a week of hands-on learning and excitement! Learners will explore various STEAM activities, collaborate with others, and discover careers and experiences in STEAM fields. They’ll get the chance to create awesome art projects, dive into experiments and engineering challenges, and even take on some fun "Minute to Win It" activities. This session will give learners a deeper understanding of what people in the STEAM fields do every day—let’s explore, create, and have a blast together!

In this hands-on class, students will embark on an exciting journey through our solar system, uncovering the mysteries of planets, moons, and the incredible world of space. Capture the magic of sunshine, storms, and summer skies in this creative Weather Poetry Painting Camp for Kids!
In this fun and imaginative camp, young artists and writers will explore the beauty of summer weather through both words and art. Each day focuses on a different weather theme—like bright sunny days, gentle breezes, dramatic thunderstorms, and colorful sunsets. Kids will write simple, playful poems inspired by what they see and feel, then bring those poems to life with vibrant paintings using watercolor.
Through guided activities, storytelling, and outdoor observation, children will learn how to express emotions, use descriptive language, and experiment with colors and textures. Whether they’re painting a swirling storm or writing a poem about the warmth of the sun, children will build confidence in their creativity while having lots of fun.

Expanding upon the skills learned in school music class and through learning new skills, students will explore the basics of rhythm and rhythmic notation and the basics of playing the drums using only a 5-Gallon Bucket! Students will learn how to read basic percussion notation, they will practice simple pieces, create a class piece and create a video performance for friends and family

It's time to write your story! Come join us for a Writer's Workshop. You'll create your own character and the place they live, and then you'll get to know them and tell their story! Who are they? What challenges do they face? What is the biggest challenge they'll overcome? You decide, and then you'll get to write about them, their friends, where they live, what they like, and how they solve the biggest problem. At the end of the week, you'll take your finished story with you to share! You'll learn more about writing from each other and myself as we create written adventures!
