Bio:
Originally from the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, I joined the ECS department in 2019 after completing my BA in Environmental Science and Geology at University of Minnesota, Morris. I completed my MS with ECS in 2021 and took a year off before returning to continue my research and pursue a Ph.D. I have always been fascinated by environmental processes, and I love learning about the mechanisms that drive the world around us. When I get free time, I try to spend it outside hiking, camping, and kayaking with my friends; however, I will unintentionally turn any hike into an impromptu interpretive nature walk.
Research:
My research primarily focuses on Pleistocene paleoclimate and glacial moraine chronology. Using terrestrial cosmogenic nuclide (TCN) exposure age dating, we aim to develop recessional chronologies for alpine glacial valleys. These chronologies, in conjunction with existing paleoclimate records, allow for the interpretation of glacial response to climate change during deglacial phases. Spatial and temporal analysis of recessional chronologies and paleoclimate records can enable us to identify regional deglacial trends in relation to climate dynamics inferred from proxy records.
