NDSU Research Policies
North Dakota State University (NDSU) has several key policies that significantly impact research writing for its students, faculty, and staff. These policies generally aim to uphold academic integrity, protect intellectual property, and ensure the responsible conduct of research.

Read the NoticeResearch Compliance
In accordance with NDSU policy, all research involving human subjects, vertebrate animals, or recombinant DNA/biohazardous materials must receive official approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), or Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), respectively, prior to the commencement of any research activities. This ensures compliance with ethical guidelines and federal regulations.
It is vital that you ensure your research has been approved by the appropriate body and that you have been approved as part of the research team for the project. Any master's paper, thesis or dissertation that includes research that was not approved prior to the start of the research, or if the student has not been approved as a research team member for the project, cannot be accepted by the Graduate School or used for degree completion.
