Teresa Conner was named the new dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences following a rigorous national search.

Conner has 30 years of experience as an academic leader and professor in higher education. She has served in two founding deanships and is the inaugural associate provost of Health Sciences at Radford University Carilion. She was responsible for developing the organizational structure at these two campuses and colleges with degrees in more than 10 health care related disciplines.

Most recently, Conner led the College of Health at Idaho State University. ISU serves the statewide mission for health science education, and the College of Health has programs located on three campuses and at three partner institutions across the state of Idaho. Her research areas are in advanced therapeutics for wound healing and microbial control as well as simulation technologies.

In a campus-wide email, NDSU Provost David Bertolini said Conner is eager to get started in her new role.

“During a recent conversation with her, she shared that she is honored to join the NDSU family. She is thrilled to work with nationally recognized faculty, peers, and leadership at the institution, as well as alumni and community partners,” Bertolini wrote.

In his email Bertolini also expressed gratitude to the search committee led by Kathryn Birkeland, Ronald G. and Kaye S. Olson Dean of the NDSU College of Business, and thanked Ronald Werner-Wilson who served as the interim dean this past year.
