NDSU provides students with firsthand experience on how to run a foodservice establishment with the 800 Café located on campus in the Family Life Center room 312.
This is an on-campus restaurant managed by nutrition science/dietetic students as part of their program. Meals are planned to be as close as possible to 800 calories as the name suggests. All meals are focused on whole foods and making as many recipes as possible from scratch.
Please join student managers, Ingrid Dolan Peterson from Austin, Minnesota, and Mckenna Tabery from Alexandria, Minnesota for their Ristorante Italiano themed lunch planned for Thursday, March 6.
The first seating is at 11 a.m. and the last seating starts at 12:15 p.m. Each meal costs $15 per person, or four meals for $50 with a purchased punch card. Payments can be made in the form of cash or check at the door.
The menu features a Caprese Salad with fresh tomato, mozzarella slices and basil leaves, and a drizzle of balsamic reduction for an appetizer, an entrée of garlic lemon broccoli pasta with red pepper flakes and grilled chicken, and a dessert of lemonade sorbet, made with freshly squeezed lemons, and garnished with a lemon slice and raspberries.
The class is instructed by Sherri Stastny, professor of health, nutrition and exercise sciences. Seating is limited, so reservations are preferred. Please note the number of people in your party, time of seating and if any food allergies need to be noted. Parking is available in the visitor’s pay parking lot on Campus.
