NDSU and the North Dakota Air National Guard have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement to better serve the research, service, educational and workforce needs of North Dakota.
The Memorandum of Agreement signed on June 27 provides a great opportunity to promote collaboration, research, recruitment and education in the community. “The 119th Wing’s partnerships have been one of our primary pathways for new possibilities and innovation. I greatly look forward to the adjacent potentials created through our partnership with NDSU,” said Col. Christopher Domitrovich, commander of the 119th Wing. “We appreciate NDSU and President Cook for their support of our Happy Hooligan Airmen and their families.”
The partnership encourages collaboration, which includes sharing information about opportunities at NDSU, and connecting the 119th Wing with the NDSU Office of Admission. The 119th Wing also will gather data about the academic opportunities potential recruits are seeking. Regular meetings will be scheduled to discuss needs and solutions to address shared goals of NDSU and the North Dakota Air National Guard.
“NDSU is always looking for opportunities to best support our military population,” said NDSU President David Cook. “This agreement paves the way for collaboration between NDSU and the North Dakota Air National Guard to strengthen the educational environment across North Dakota so that each organization will be better able to serve the citizens within the state.”
NDSU will continue to streamline degree pathways for North Dakota Air National Guard members. The university also will provide professional academic advising support for military members to ensure the best pathway towards degree completion while minimizing disruption while deployed. Materials will be created collaboratively for potential North Dakota Air National Guard members and NDSU students to highlight opportunities to be a service member and an NDSU student.
The anticipated outcomes of this agreement are increased retention for both entities, increased academic success for NDSU military students, increased professional success for North Dakota Air National Guard military members and increased collaboration between the two entities.
