An NDSU student’s start-up company is scheduled to be featured during Twin Cities Startup Week’s BETA Accelerator cohort.
Dieumerci “Chris” Christel, a senior marketing major, is the founder and creator of Enlight, an app that helps teachers learn about their students so they can be more effective in their teaching.
“This opportunity means a lot to our team. Being able to showcase our technology to people from all over the U.S. is going to be a fun experience. We are looking forward to the feedback and the potential connections that can come out of this opportunity,” Christel said. “Enlight also was part of the Showcase last year (which was in person), but this year is more special for us because we are showcasing as part of the BETA Accelerator cohort.”
In the BETA Accelerator program, company founders are trained in various topics that are needed to grow their business. Christel joins 164 other companies that have gone through the program. Those companies have raised $358 million in funding and employ more than 1,200 employees nationwide.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most sessions will be hosted on the virtual platform Hopin, and the events have been spread out over three weeks – which began on Sept. 7 and continues through Sept. 25.
