NDSU move-in day for first-year and transfer students is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19.
It’s once again that time of year when hundreds of incoming students will move into residence halls in anticipation for the start of fall semester.
On Saturday, Aug. 19, volunteers will help to direct traffic, provide guidance and move belongings into residence halls across campus. Families are encouraged to arrive on campus between 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Every year we look for ways to enhance the move in day experience and opportunities to improve it,” said Rian Nostrum, director of Residence Life. “We could not be more excited for August 19, and believe families will feel the Bison love when they arrive. Every detail is carefully and purposefully thought through so students and their families can focus on getting settled in while saying their goodbyes.”
Driving instructions have been supplied for each hall to allow the volume of vehicles to be spread between the various roadways coming to campus. Parents and students are urged to follow the instructions they have received and ignore their GPS once they get to Fargo.
NDSU Dining Centers, coffee shops and food court are open on Move-in Day. Dining Centers have a discounted lunch rate of $10 per person on Saturday for all friends and families.
Once students have moved in, they can head to the Memorial Union to get last-minute supplies at the NDSU Bookstore, or assistance from NDSU One Stop (student account info, financial aid, tuition, payments, scholarships, etc.). Watch for afternoon activities, including an ice cream social, Wellness Center tours and other events.
Welcome Week activities will begin for first year and transfer students later in the day on Saturday, Aug. 19.
