How to Become a Certified Family Life Educator
Full Certification is available to those with the minimum of a baccalaureate degree and two years' experience in family life education if the degree is family-related.
Provisional Certification is available to those with a baccalaureate degree and approved coursework, but without the minimum two years' experience.
After graduation, students follow four easy steps to receive the designation of Provisional CFLE:
- Application form
- Checklist from the approved school
- Official transcript showing degree completion
- Application fee
Provisional Certification can be upgraded to Full Certification after earning two years' experience in family life education
Recent Graduates in HDFS may also apply for Provisional CFLE status provided they have taken the courses on the approved application checklist. CFLE Checklist for North Dakota State University UG Child Development and Family Science
