A team of NDSU students successfully submitted their project proposal to participate in the Farm Robotics Challenge.

The NDSU's Robotics Team is composed of:

Undergraduate students Joanna Daniella Fajardo (ABEN - PAG/Robotics minor), Courtney Hassler (ABEN/Robotics minor), Christopher Thibert (ABEN), Osyad Hamdan (ECE - Computer Engineering) and Joshua Bruemmer (ABEN), as well as graduate students Shafi Md. Istiak (ABEN - PhD Student), Mohammad Aftabi Talami (ABEN - PhD Student) and Rafat Safayet (ABEN - MS student).

The team’s main advisor is Sulaymon Eshkabilov, NDSU assistant professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering.

The team will build a mechanical site-specific weed control system powered by Farm-NG's AMIGA’s wheeled unmanned ground vehicle.

“We are proud to represent NDSU and be the first team from the state of North Dakota in this prestigious international competition in the Farm Robotics Challenge,” Eshkabilov said.

The team’s collaborators include two local farmers from North Dakota and Minnesota. The industry partner and mentor is Michael Anderson with AMITY Technology. Sponsors include the Agrimechatronics Research Lab of Eshkabilov, LINAK and Farm-NG.
